Makhadzi hurt by demands to prove accident
Award-winning musician Makhadzi has broken her silence, saying she is deeply hurt by demands from some members of the public to prove the seriousness of the car accident she survived.
The singer was hospitalised after sustaining injuries in a motor vehicle accident while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg on the morning of 31 December 2025. She has now been discharged and is recovering from home.

The accident reportedly occurred on the N1 in Limpopo, where her vehicle was hit by another car.
Taking to social media, Makhadzi questioned why survival is often doubted if a victim does not die.
“I did not know that the proof that you were in an accident must be death,” she wrote in her personal social statement.
She also expressed pain over expectations that she should share graphic images of herself to convince people of what she went through.
“I didn’t know that if God chooses to give you a second chance, you must prove it by posting yourself before you heal, just because other people don’t believe in God’s miracles,” she said.

The singer revealed that she is still in pain and focusing on her recovery.
“I am in pain, trying to get my life back. You couldn’t have looked at my body twice on day one. I can’t disclose everything because I believe God is still going to do a miracle,” she added.
Makhadzi said it is painful to be questioned by people who do not believe that God can protect someone in unbelievable situations.
