Two more victims reported dead after R518 crash
Limpopo police have confirmed that two additional victims have died following a horrific motor vehicle accident on the R518 near the Mogalakwena Bridge, between Tinmyne and Masodi villages, in the Waterberg District.
The crash occurred at about 09:30 on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, when a white Suzuki mini truck travelling from Mokamole to Mokopane allegedly struck a bridge barrier. Six people, four adult males and two adult females, were declared dead at the scene.

Police say a female victim later died on arrival at the hospital, while an 11-month-old infant transferred to Mankweng Hospital succumbed to injuries on Tuesday, 30 December 2025.
One male victim has been discharged with minor injuries. The driver and three other victims, including a child, a woman and a man, remain in hospital.

Following the crash, police divers searched the nearby river amid fears that more occupants may have been swept away. On Friday, 26 December 2025, the body of a seventh male victim was recovered more than one kilometre from the scene.
It now brings the total number of deaths to nine following the confirmation of seven deaths previously.
