Former Limpopo MEC Dikeledi Magadzi has died
The African National Congress (ANC) has announced with deep sorrow the passing of veteran leader and former deputy minister, Comrade Dikeledi Magadzi, who died on Sunday morning, 28 December 2025.
In a statement released by the party’s Department of Communications, Information and Publicity, the ANC described Magadzi as a disciplined, committed cadre who dedicated her life to the liberation movement and democratic governance.

She served the organisation and the state with distinction, holding several senior positions at provincial and national level.
Magadzi served the people of Limpopo as Member of the Executive Council in key portfolios including Public Works, Agriculture, Health, Safety and Security. At national level, she was elected to Parliament, chaired the Portfolio Committee on Transport, and later served as Deputy Minister of Transport and Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation.
Within the ANC, she played a significant role in mass democratic formations such as the Federation of Transvaal Women, the United Democratic Front, NEHAWU, the ANC Women’s League and the Congress of Traditional Leadership of South Africa.

She served on the ANC National Executive Committee from 2007 to 2022, contributing to organisational development and political education.
The ANC extended condolences to the Magadzi family, comrades and friends, urging structures to provide support. Funeral details will be announced.
