SANParks have put in place quotas for Day visitors planning to visit the Kruger National Park during the festive season to prevent overcrowding on the roads and facilities. The quota system does not apply to overnight guests.
Once daily quotas are reached, only pre-booked visitors will be allowed entry. Queueing will then apply, and access will be dependent on the number of visitors exiting the Park.
Conservation fee for SA residents: R134 per adult and R67 per child between the ages 2 to 11 years.

SANParks also clarified that KNP Phalaborwa Gate visitors and staff are unaffected following water disruptions due to misunderstandings with Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality.
On 10 December 2025, the Park learned of an alleged amount totalling R44 million for property rates from a debt collector representing the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality.
Consequently, the debtor collector elected to facilitate the closure of water to the Kruger National Park’s Phalaborwa Gate.
However, following an engagement with the Municipal Manager on the same day, an agreement was reached to restore water supply to the park with immediate effect.
The Park says a legally sound and collaborative agreement has been reached on the application of property rates with municipalities in Mpumalanga.
SANParks says they are attempting to realise similar outcomes with municipalities in Limpopo, such as Ba-Phalaborwa.
