Limpopo man arrested for raping his mother

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for rape, kidnapping and intimidating his mother at Magangeni village, Vhembe in Limpopo.

According to a Police preliminary report, the man came home and started to demand money from his mother on Saturday, 13 December 2025, at around 18:30. The victim responded that she had no cash.

The suspect apparently became aggressive toward his mother, who is in medical condition. He allegedly insulted and attacked her, and then raped her.

The victim tried to resist, but was overpowered. After the alleged rape ordeal, he locked the victim inside the house and left.

The victim managed to get assistance from members of the community who unlocked the house and freed her.

She then informed the Police about the incident, and a rape case was registered at Watervaal SAPS.

The suspect was arrested in the early hours of Monday, 15 December 2025. He will appear before the Watervaal Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, for rape, intimidation, and kidnapping.
