Shebeshxt’s bail application hearing postponed again
The bail hearing for Lekompo artist Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, widely known as Shebeshxt, has been postponed to Monday, 15 December 2025.
Chauke’s bail application hearing resumed at the Polokwane Magistrates Court in Limpopo on Thursday after being adjourned on Wednesday afternoon.
He is facing nine charges, including three counts of attempted murder, assault, robbery, and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

On Thursday, the state began with the re-examination of Investigating Officer Phaladi Makola. This is after the court ran out of time as proceedings stretched late on Thursday afternoon.
Investigating Officer Phaladi Makola told the court that he had requested the contact details and residential address of the mother of Shebeshxt’s child, who lives in Krugersdorp.
This is after the defence team had indicated that the Musician had an 8-year-old daughter whom he needed to take care of. In a bail affidavit, it was revealed that the musician pays R5,000 in monthly maintenance for his 8-year-old daughter, who is currently in Grade 2.

Makola also testified that there is video footage showing the musician in a shooting incident in Ladanna, Polokwane.
Meanwhile, the defence team had to change attorneys for the closing arguments, with Advocate T.I. Mokgopo of Ramusi Attorneys taking over from Lot Ramusi.
The matter was postponed to Monday, 15 December 2025, to allow the defence team to conclude with its arguments.
“It was the wish of this court that perhaps today the address on the merits of the applications would be completed,” said Magistrate Godfrey Netshiozwi.
“However, I realised that it would be unfair to cut short the advocate who was addressing the court with regard to the bail application. I felt he should be extensive, as he so wishes. For that purpose, time is against us.”
