Shebeshxt bail hearing adjourned until Thursday
The bail hearing of popular Lekompo artist Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, widely known as Shebeshxt, has been adjourned until Thursday, 11 December 2025, by the Polokwane Magistrate Court in Limpopo.
Proceedings ran late into Wednesday afternoon, forcing the court to adjourn the matter for the day.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, the defence team cross-examined the investigating officer, arguing that several of the charges are allegedly not valid and cannot stand in court. However, the State countered by referencing previous matters involving the musician, suggesting a history of concerning behavior.
These included a 2015 Lebowakgomo assault case, in which Shebeshxt was granted bail but allegedly returned to the complainant’s home with friends in an attempt to pressure them into dropping the charges.
Another case, reportedly withdrawn at the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court, was also mentioned, with claims that the complainant was not present when the matter was withdrawn.
The court also heard details about the Seshego attempted-murder case, where a victim was allegedly shot in the right arm before suspects, including the musician, fled the scene. They reportedly only presented themselves after learning police were searching for them.

Addressing the charges that led to his latest arrest, the defence argued that Shebeshxt had attempted to surrender himself, saying he went to the police station wearing the same clothes and driving the same vehicle from the scene. But the investigating officer disputed this, insisting that “according to the evidence I have, he never came to the station.”
The officer further testified that the musician only arrived later at his office, allegedly intoxicated, carrying an open bottle of alcohol, and driving without a licence. He added that he even contacted the defence team, expressing disappointment in their client’s behavior. The matter has been adjourned to tomorrow, 11 December 2025, for re-examination.
