No Chiefs players as Broos announces final Bafana AFCON squad
Despite having five players named in the preliminary list, no Kaizer Chiefs player has made it to the final 25-man Bafana Bafana squad for AFCON.
On Monday, head coach Hugo Broos announced the final squad for the 2025 CAF AFCON Tournament taking place from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026 in Morocco.

In the squad, Broos has made some surprise inclusions, including two SA Junior Internationals in Shandre Campbell, Tylon Smith.
Meanwhile, South Africa is in Group B alongside Zimbabwe, Angola and Egypt. They will face Angola in their opening group-stage match on 22 December at the Grand Stade de Marrakech.
Bafana will then meet Egypt at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir on 16 December before the final group match against Zimbabwe at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on 29 December.
