National prayer day underway at FNB Stadium

The annual National Prayer Day, hosted by the Motsepe Foundation, is currently underway at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, attracting tens of thousands of worshippers from across South Africa and neighboring countries.

The highly anticipated gathering, which has become one of the nation’s largest interfaith events, aims to unite citizens through prayer, reflection, and thanksgiving.

This year’s service features prominent religious leaders, vibrant choirs, and guest speakers who are delivering messages centered on hope, healing, and national unity. Many attendees arrived early in the morning, eager to take part in a programme designed to inspire collective faith and strengthen the call for peace and social cohesion.

Motsepe Foundation founders, Dr Patrice Motsepe and Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, are expected to address the congregation later in the day. Their message is anticipated to reaffirm the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to uplifting communities and promoting unity through faith-driven initiatives.

Traffic remains heavily congested around the Nasrec precinct as buses, taxis, and private vehicles continue to make their way to the stadium. Security personnel and event marshals are actively managing the flow of people, ensuring safe entry and movement within the venue.
