During Thursday’s proceedings, defence lawyer Advocate Lot Ramusi made a strong case for Chauke to be granted bail. Ramusi highlighted several personal and financial obligations that he argued justify Chauke’s release.
These include supporting his heavily pregnant partner and caring for a child based in Krugersdorp. In addition, the musician reportedly provides R25 000 monthly to his parents and R13 000 to his in-laws.
