SANTACO to hold annual prayer day in Limpopo
The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) will convene its annual Prayer Day Against Gender-Based Violence, Taxi Violence, Drug Abuse, and Road Accidents on Saturday, 22 November 2025, at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo.
The gathering is intended to usher in the festive season with a unified appeal for spiritual reflection, safety, and social responsibility.

SANTACO President Motlhabane Abnar Tsebe will preside over the programme, which is expected to draw a diverse range of leaders and stakeholders. Among the notable attendees are Deputy Minister of Transport Mkhuleko Hlengwa, Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety Violet Mathye, as well as executive mayors Mamedupi Teffo and John Mpe.
According to SANTACO national spokesperson Rebecca Phala, the prayer session will bring together faith-based organizations, traditional authorities, community structures, and groups working to combat GBV, drug abuse, and road-related fatalities. She emphasized that the event aims to strengthen partnerships and promote efforts to curb these persistent challenges.

The initiative comes a day after the Mogalakwena Local Municipality hosted a similar prayer gathering at the Aboo Tayob Hall in Mokopane, where the focus was also placed on road safety and gender-based violence awareness.
SANTACO’s Prayer Day is expected to reinforce the message of unity, shared responsibility, and the need for collective action to build safer, healthier, and more compassionate communities across Limpopo.
