MEC monitors Limpopo Matric exams progress
The Limpopo Class of 2025 has entered week 5 and the final lap of the Grade 12 National Senior Certificate [NSC] examinations.
Over 127,000 matriculants are sitting for the 2025 matric exams in Limpopo, 101,576 full-time and 25,516 part-time, in over 1,650 examination centres.
On Tuesday morning, MEC for Education Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya visited Thengwe High School in the Vhembe East Education District to monitor the progress.

The school has 494 grade 12 candidates and has been achieving a pass rate of over 90%.
“I am very pleased with the presence of candidates during exams as the absenteeism rate is very low,” said Lerule-Ramakhanya.
“The school is one of those contributing a high percentage for the province to be where we are,” she added.

The Limpopo Department of Education says they have implemented strict quality assurance and compliance measures to ensure that all examination processes meet the required national standards.
They have also supported learners through focused academic intervention programmes such as Winter Enrichment, spring classes and Saturday Classes.
Limpopo’s matric pass rate for the 2024 exams was 85.1%. It was a significant improvement from the previous year, when the province achieved a 79.5% pass rate.
