Shebeshxt appears in court following his arrest

Lekompo artist Shebeshxt, real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court, Limpopo, on Thursday on charges of attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

Shebeshxt was arrested on Wednesday, 12 November, in Bendor, Polokwane.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 19 October 2025, along Witklip Street in Ladanna, outside Polokwane.

It is alleged that Shebeshxt had a confrontation with another motorist, during which he fired several shots at another vehicle, injuring a 34-year-old male occupant, who was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries. The case has been postponed to 21 November 2025 for the bail application.

Meanwhile, police also seized the suspect’s vehicles for forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations.

Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has commended the investigation and operational teams for their meticulous work and swift action.

 “We are taking this matter very seriously, and a dedicated team was appointed to ensure that no stone is left unturned. The South African Police Service reiterates that no one is above the law, regardless of their social standing,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
