Stokvel money stolen in house robbery at Xigamani village
A 43-year-old woman and her children were left traumatised after ten armed men stormed into their home and fled with stokvel money in Xigamani Village, outside Malamulele, on Tuesday night, 4 November.
According to police reports, the robbery occurred around 23:30 when the suspects, armed with firearms, forced entry into the house. The intruders allegedly threatened the victims and demanded money before ransacking the home.
They made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be stokvel savings, as well as a cellphone, before escaping on foot.

Police in Malamulele have launched a manhunt for the suspects and opened a case of house robbery.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, has ordered an immediate probe into the incident. He also warned community members to remain vigilant and avoid keeping large amounts of cash at home, especially during the stokvel season when such crimes tend to increase.

“We urge residents to use safe banking methods and avoid keeping stokvel funds in their homes,” said Scheepers.
