Police launch manhunt after sexual assault of 11-year-old girl
Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt for a 36-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Zaaiplaas on Wednesday afternoon, 5 November 2025.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at around 15:30 when the young girl was returning home after fetching water. The suspect allegedly approached her and offered to help push her wheelbarrow. However, as they neared her home, he reportedly stopped, touched her inappropriately, and kissed her without her consent before fleeing the scene.

The visibly shaken child ran home and told her mother what had happened. The mother then went to confront the suspect at his residence, where he allegedly tried to bribe the family with money to prevent them from reporting the incident. When his offer was refused, the man reportedly became aggressive and chased them away.
Police have since opened a case of sexual assault and are appealing to the public for assistance in locating the suspect, who remains on the run.

Limpopo police have strongly condemned the incident, urging residents to report all forms of sexual violence and not to protect perpetrators.
