Matric Learner scalded with boiling water in Seleteng
A male Grade 12 learner [19] was allegedly scalded with boiling water by a female learner [18] at a school camping in preparation for their final examinations in Seleteng village, Limpopo, on Sunday.
The incident occurred at Kgagatlou Secondary School in Seleteng village at about 04:30 in the Ga-Mphahlele.

Preliminary reports indicate that the male learner was sleeping inside one of the classrooms when the suspect approached him and accused him of touching her private parts.
The complainant reportedly denied the allegations, and the suspect initially left but later returned and poured him with boiling water.
He sustained burn injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Police in Lebowakgomo under Capricorn District have since opened a case of Assault with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm [GBH]. At this stage, no arrest has been made, and the investigation is continuing.

Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, has strongly condemned the incident. He has directed that the matter be thoroughly investigated to ensure that justice prevails.
“We take incidents of violence, especially among learners, very seriously,” said Scheepers.
“Such acts have no place in our learning institutions and must be dealt with decisively. The investigation must uncover the full circumstances surrounding this incident so that justice is served,” he added.
