Mother left homeless after her gambling addict son sells house
A mother in Kgapane, Limpopo, has been left homeless after her 34-year-old son allegedly forged her signature to sell their house and fund his gambling habit.
Sarah Mokumo [57] said she only learned of the sale after receiving eviction notices.

The property, located in Park Town (ERF 1555), became hers following her husband’s death in 2009. The son reportedly pocketed a R180 000 down payment from the buyer, who is also a relative.
The case has sparked outrage in the community, with calls for justice and intervention to help Mokumo reclaim her home.

“The buyer knows I’m the rightful owner. How could they finalise the sale without my consent? My son and the buyer must face the law,” Mokumo said.
The deception only came to light after the sale had already been processed. Mokumo soon began receiving eviction notices, and on Wednesday, she was forced out of her home.
