Learner arrested for sexual assault of fellow learner in Musina

Police in Limpopo have arrested a 21-year-old learner in connection with the sexual assault of a fellow learner at a private high school in Musina town.

The suspect, Tjapudi Gumani Michael, was arrested on Wednesday, 01 October 2025, following a complaint laid by a 15-year-old female learner.

According to the reports, on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, at approximately 11:00, the victim was standing outside during break time when the suspect approached her and inappropriately touched her breast.

The victim immediately reported the incident to an educator at the school and subsequently informed her parents upon returning home.

The matter was officially reported to the police on Wednesday, 01 October 2025. Members of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Musina swiftly responded and arrested the suspect on the same day.

The suspect appeared before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 02 October 2025, facing a charge of sexual assault.
