Polokwane to host Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier
The Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo has been confirmed as the venue for Lesotho’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier fixtures.
Lesotho will face Nigeria on Friday, 10 October, at 18:00, followed by a clash against Zimbabwe on Monday, 13 October, also at 18:00.

The decision to move Lesotho’s matches qualifiers from Bloemfontein to Polokwane after the Free State Stadium was ruled unfit for use because of the poor state of the pitch.
As it stands, Lesotho does not have any venues that are up to international standard and has been using venues across South Africa in the last series of World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaigns to host their home games.

Despite Lesotho’s efforts to complete its World Cup qualifying campaign at home, CAF have confirmed that the two matches will now be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Lesotho currently sit on nine points in Group C after being awarded a 3-0 win from their March fixture against Bafana Bafana who fielded defaulter Teboho Mokoena in the game. Tickets for both matches are set to go on sale as of Friday, 3 October 2025.
