Woman raped on R33 road in Groblersdal
A 22-year-old woman was raped on the R33 road near Groblersdal, Limpopo, after the vehicle she was travelling in with the suspect ran out of fuel on Monday, 22 September 2025.
According to police, the woman was driven by the suspect from the Motetema area towards Groblersdal when the incident occurred.

While on the farm section of the R33 road, the suspect’s vehicle allegedly ran out of fuel and got stuck. He then proceeded to rape the victim while waiting for assistance.
Members of the Groblersdal Farm Watch later noticed the stranded vehicle, intervened and discovered what had happened. They apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the police.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of rape.
Acting Limpopo Police Commissioner, Major General Jan Scheepers, condemned the incident and commended the swift action of the farm watch members.
