Resident slapped for demanding water in Limpopo
A community member was assaulted during an ANC event in Matswale Phase 2, Musina, Limpopo, after interrupting proceedings to demand water.
A video circulating on various social media platforms shows a man in an ANC T-shirt insulting and slapping the resident.

The incident has sparked outrage among locals, who say it highlights their daily struggles with persistent water shortages and the lack of response to their grievances.
Community members have called for urgent action, stressing that access to clean water is a basic right and should not be met with violence.

The incident is said to have taken place during an ANC campaign ahead of the upcoming by-election scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, in Ward 02 of Musina Local Municipality.
The vacancy occurred due to the death of the Ward Councillor. It was previously represented by the African National Congress [ANC].
