Two drivers arrested for speeding on N1 Limpopo
Police in Limpopo arrested two drivers for speeding on the N1 highway in Limpopo on Monday morning.
The first driver was N1 near Planknek outside Mokopane. The 43-year-old male Polo driver was caught driving 183km/h in a 120km/h zone.

The second driver was a 28-year-old male driver who was apprehended on the N1 near Settlers at Modimolle.
He was caught driving at an alarming speed of 165km/h in a 120km/h zone while driving a white Ford Fiesta.
“This serves as a stern warning that speeding and any form of irresponsible driving behaviour will not be tolerated on our roads,” said the Limpopo Department of Transport.
“Drivers are urged to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits, and prioritise the safety of all road Users.

Meanwhile, the traffic official in the province arrested 17 motorists for drunk driving through the Phuza Weekend Operation this past weekend.
In the Capricorn District, three motorists were arrested, with the highest alcohol reading recorded at 0.93mg/1000ml.
Mopani District accounted for two arrests, the highest reading being 0.30mg/1000ml. Vhembe District registered the highest number of arrests, with eight drivers taken off the road.
The most severe case recorded was 0.60mg/1000ml. Waterberg District recorded four arrests, with the highest reading at 0.88mg/1000ml. Sekhukhune District reported no incidents of drunk driving during this period.
