EFF secures victory at UNIVEN SRC elections

The Economic Freedom Fighters Youth Command [EFFYC] have emerged victorious following the SRC elections at UNIVEN on Thursday.

According to preliminary results released by the University, the EFFYC received 6077 votes, followed by SASCO with 4303.

The Umkhonto We Sizwe Student Movement [MKSM] received 715 votes, ASBC 225, while the SCO got 371 votes.

“These results are preliminary and subject to confirmation by the Electoral Committee,” the university said in a statement.

“We congratulate all the candidates and thank the entire student body for their active participation in strengthening student democracy at UNIVEN.”

The EFF is now in charge of the two major Universities in Limpopo. Earlier this month, the EFFYC emerged victorious for the fourth consecutive term in the SRC elections at the University of Limpopo.

They won with 8 299 votes [7 seats] against the SASCO, which got 4 544 votes [4 seats].
