Mother [43] arrested for burying her stillborn foetus in shallow grave
A 43-year-old mother of seven, including a 1-year-5-month-old baby, will appear before the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court, Limpopo, on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, for concealment of birth.
She was arrested on Sunday, 07 September 2025, at Lesodimotlana village, outside Mokopane in the Waterberg District.

According to the information, the suspect, a mother of 7, including a 1-year-5-month-old baby, was pregnant, and one of the community members discovered that the suspect’s pregnancy was no longer visible and notified the police.

When questioned, the alleged suspect revealed that she had been pregnant for about five months before giving birth [stillborn] on 22 August 2025.
She allegedly admitted to wrapping the foetus in a towel and burying it in a shallow grave behind her house. The foetus was later exhumed by authorities.
