Boy Mamabolo officially quit the ANC
Former Member of Parliament Boy Mamabolo has officially handed in his resignation as a member of the ANC. In recent years, Mamabolo has been embroiled in court battles with the party.
This comes following his removal from the list of party representatives in Parliament.
He was suspended from the party earlier this year, but his suspension was lifted despite dragging its leaders in Limpopo and the National Executive Committee to court.

In July this year, Mamabolo attempted to register a party called Mandela for President at the IEC.
However, the commission moved swiftly to clarify that his application was rejected for several violations, including that the name “Mandela for President” associated green and black colours may be construed by voters as connected to founding President Nelson Mandela.
In a resignation letter seen by Limpopo Chronicle, Mamabolo cited his removal from Parliament as one of the reasons.
“I have come to a very difficult and emotional decision to terminate my ANC Membership, which I’ve held for 29 years,” he wrote.

“I joined COSAS at the age of 13 and led all its structures. I then proceeded to form part of the PYA and later became one of the longest serving Branch Chairpersons in Limpopo.
The ANC has been turned into a pig that eats its own children; I was firstly unlawfully removed from Parliament, and as if that was not enough was fed with a bill of over R300k for legal costs, which were incurred because of my illegal removal from Parliament.
“When I tried to move on, you then blocked our move to establish a political party called Mandela For President (MFP), your objection was then approved by the IEC because you clearly want me to be a failed politician. I therefore cannot tolerate this abuse anymore, and I want out.”
