Court bid to halt ANC Waterberg Region conference fails
The ANC Waterberg 10th Regional Conference proceeded as scheduled on Sunday, despite an eleventh-hour court application by one of its members to interdict the conference.
On Saturday, some members made an application to interdict the conference, which was dismissed with costs by the Gauteng Division of the High Court in Pretoria.

On Sunday, another member, Masoma Titus Seabi, lodged an urgent application in the same court to interdict the conference on the basis that the Regional Task Team failed to afford branches, which have been ordered to reconvene, an opportunity to do so.
The judge ruled that the application launched by the Applicant is not urgent and the failure for the Applicant to properly notify the other Respondents of the current application.

The matter is struck off the roll for the following reasons: the application is not urgent and costs on scale C with costs of two counsels.
ANC regional spokesperson Seraka Mapeka says the conference is proceeding as planned and that they are expecting 300 delegates to be in attendance.
He says the conference will be officially opened by the provincial deputy secretary, Basikopo Makamu, adding that the ANC is ready to defend itself in the court of law.
