Nigerian national arrested for selling drugs in Mokopane
A 42-year-old Nigerian national, Daniel Ibeto, was arrested for selling illicit drugs in Mokopane, Limpopo on Tuesday.
At about 11:45, operational members received information regarding an African male who was allegedly about to deliver illicit drugs in Mokopane town.

Acting on the tip-off, police proceeded to the identified route and, while patrolling along Dudu Madisha Street, spotted the suspect. Upon noticing the police presence, the suspect fled into nearby bushes on foot.
A search was immediately launched, and police followed accurate information that the suspect had been picked up by a light brown Toyota Fortuner.

The vehicle was tracked, intercepted, and searched. The suspect was found in possession of crystal meth with an estimated street value of R20 000. He was subsequently arrested and charged with dealing in drugs and possession of drugs.
He appeared before the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, for his first appearance. The case was postponed to tomorrow, 14 August 2025, for legal representation.
Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the team for their swift response and effective collaboration with security partners and community members.
