Limpopo nurse steals medication at a local clinic
A professional nurse at Dr. Hugo Clinic in the Mopani District, Limpopo, was arrested on Thursday after being caught with stolen medical supplies.
The medication was allegedly found in the nurse’s vehicle by security personnel at the Clinic. The nurse was subsequently arrested.

Limpopo MEC for Health, Dieketseng Mashego, has expressed grave concern regarding the arrest of a Limpopo nurse. Especially healthcare workers exploiting their trusted positions to pilfer medications.
“This behaviour undermines the integrity of the department and the public’s trust in its services,” she said.

“The department acknowledges and appreciates the vigilance of the clinic’s security team, whose quick response to the discovery of the medication in the nurse’s vehicle resulted in the arrest.
“This incident is deeply concerning, but it also shows the department’s unwavering commitment to protecting public health and ensuring that the medications entrusted to healthcare facilities are used solely for patient care.”
The MEC has also emphasized that the department will remain resolute in its mission to uphold transparency, integrity, and accountability in every aspect of its service delivery. It’s not yet clear when the arrested Limpopo nurse will make an appearance in court.
