R71 Gravelotte road closed due to protests  

The R71 road at Gravelotte, Limpopo, is currently closed due to community protests, affecting routes to Phalaborwa and Tzaneen.

The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety has advised motorists to avoid the road.

 “To avoid disruptions, consider taking alternative routes: R40 Route: Phalaborwa to Hoedspruit and to Tzaneen and R36 Route: Tzaneen,” said the department.

“The South African Police Officers are on the ground to handle the situation.  Our Traffic Officers are stationed at strategic locations to help redirect motorists to safer routes.

“It’s advisable to exercise caution while travelling and check for updates before embarking on your journey.”
