Road Safety Takes Center Stage at Mokopane Taxi Rank with DriveWise activation
In celebration of Mandela Day, Two and Two Marketing, in partnership with TETA, hosted a vibrant and impactful DriveWise activation at the bustling Mokopane Taxi Rank in Limpopo.
The event drew an energetic crowd of over 400 pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, and public transport drivers, all eager to learn about the critical importance of road safety.
The activation formed part of Teta’s larger DriveWise campaign, which aims to promote safe practices on South Africa’s roads under the pillars of DriveWise, WalkWise, and CycleWise.

The event was a perfect blend of education and entertainment, making key safety messages accessible and memorable to the Mokopane community.
The atmosphere was electric, thanks in large part to the lively presence of popular influencer and MC Shabba Waka 2K, alongside the ever hilarious Magezi the Comedian.
They kept the audience engaged with games, dancing competitions, and interactive safety demonstrations, ensuring that learning about road safety was both fun and impactful.
Local support was strong, with Mokopane FM Community Radio joining forces to amplify the message on air throughout the day.
Their involvement helped extend the reach of the campaign to those who couldn’t attend in person, reinforcing the importance of community-wide education in reducing road-related injuries and fatalities.

Representatives from Teta Management expressed pride in using Mandela Day as an opportunity to give back meaningfully to the community. “Spending this special day advocating for road safety and sharing life-saving tips with our community aligns with Madiba’s spirit of service,” said one Teta spokesperson.
The Department of Transport also lent its support to the initiative and expressed enthusiasm for upcoming activations. The next DriveWise event is scheduled to take place on August 29 at Kranskop Tollgate and Engen Garage, where the team aims to reach even more road users.
Ayanda Mcoyi, the passionate campaign manager behind DriveWise, emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration: “We’re gearing up for a bigger, broader activation at Kranskop. To make a real difference, we’re calling on corporates and government stakeholders to join us in making road safety education a national priority.”
As the campaign continues to gain momentum, the message is clear: whether you drive, walk, or cycle — safety is everyone’s responsibility.
