Police confiscate R1.3 million worth of Dagga
Police in Letsitele, Limpopo confiscated dagga at an estimated street value of R1.3 million and nabbed a male suspect aged 43 on Tuesday.
The suspect was nabbed during a joint operation that was executed by the Mopani Tracking Team, SAPS Maake Task Team, Private K9 Anti-Hijacking, Haenertsburg Neighbourhood Watch, Hoshani Security, Letaba Security and E2 Cross Province.

Police received information about a white Jetta that was suspected to be transporting dagga from Swaziland and destined to Zimbabwe. An operation was swiftly activated for the lookout for the described vehicle.
The vehicle was then spotted along R529 at Mafarana Village, and it was stopped and searched. The team found that it was transporting 10 compressed bales of dagga weighing 217.2 kg with an estimated street value of R1.3 million.

The suspect was immediately arrested for illegal dealing of Drugs and the dagga was also confiscated.
The suspect will appear before Ritavi Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 19 June 2025, facing a charge of dealing in drugs.
