Limpopo man [27] charged with brutal murder of his father [74]
A 27-year-old man [27] was arrested for the brutal murder of his 74-year-old father at Mmakgatle village in the Sekhukhune District, Limpopo. The incident occurred at their residence on Tuesday, [3 June 2025] morning at about 10:00.
On the day of the incident, Police responded to a complaint of alleged domestic violence. Upon arrival, they found the 74-year-old man lying inside the yard with multiple injuries.

The victim was certified dead by the emergency medical services personnel at the scene. Investigations revealed that the victim was allegedly assaulted by his son following an altercation, who then fled the scene.
He was successfully arrested shortly after the incident and charged with murder. The motive behind the tragic incident is not yet known.

He made his first court appearance before the Motetema Magistrate’s Court on Thursday and will return to court on June 12, 2025, for a formal bail application.
Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has expressed shock following the senseless murder at Mmakgatle village. She once again called upon the public to refrain from resorting to violence when they encounter domestic challenges.
