Newborn baby found wrapped in bread plastic bag at Ga-Sekgopo
A newborn baby has been found abandoned, wrapped in a bread plastic bag at Ga-Sekgopo near Lebjelola village in Limpopo on Tuesday morning.
The baby was found by a cattle herder who immediately alerted community members, who rushed to the scene and came to the baby’s rescue.

The mother of the baby is unknown at this time and fortunately the baby is still alive. Authorities have since opened an investigation and are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in identifying the mother or the circumstances surrounding the incident to come forward.

The newborn baby from Ga-Sekgopo has been taken to a nearby medical facility for care and observation. Community members have also called for improved support systems for struggling mothers to prevent such heartbreaking situations.
