Foreign national caught selling drugs in Mokopane
A 38-year-old foreign national was caught in possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R150,000 in Mokopane, Limpopo on Friday.
The suspect’s vehicle was spotted along Thabo Mbeki Street in Mokopane Town. Upon noticing police presence, the suspect attempted to evade arrest by speeding away, which led to a brief pursuit.

He was also reportedly operating from a white Volkswagen Polo TSI with Limpopo registration. After the vehicle was successfully stopped, officers searched and discovered a box containing Kat drugs on the passenger seat with an estimated street value of R150,000.
The suspect was immediately arrested on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of drugs in Mokopane. He is scheduled to appear before the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has commended the members for their swift action and vigilance in apprehending the suspect.
“This arrest is a clear demonstration of our unwavering commitment to ridding our communities of the scourge of drugs. We will continue to intensify our efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks operating in our province,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
