Tshitereke Matibe re-elected as ANC Vhembe chairperson
MEC for LEDET Tshitereke Matibe has been re-elected as ANC Vhembe chairperson following the 9th Regional Conference.
The ANC Vhembe regional conference got underway at Kalahari Water Front, Thulamela, in the early hours of Monday morning.
The conference was delayed after some members in the region urgently approached the Thohoyandou High Court to prevent it from proceeding on Sunday.

Some members of the Regional Task Team were challenging the process to prepare the elective conference.
A group of members led by former regional secretary Rudzani Ludere stated that the decision by the party’s national and provincial leadership to allow each branch to send five delegates to verify nominations is in conflict with the revised ANC guidelines. However, their application was struck off the roll.
On the eve of the conference, Ludere was also stripped of his responsibilities as a regional coordinator by ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula. Ludere was vying for a second term as secretary of the region.
His slate included Simon Mavikane [Chairperson], Samuel Munyai [Deputy Chairperson], Livhuwani Ligaraba [Deputy Secretary] and Muhloti Muhlophe [Treasurer]. But Tshitereke retained the top position in the region.
