Meanwhile, the “GNU” comprises disgruntled members who feel left out of both camps. It reportedly emerged after the removal of Mopani District Municipality spokesperson Odas Ngobeni from the top five executives of the 3rd term.
Ngobeni is reportedly also joined by Sydney Mabunda from the Giyani sub-region and Mahira Masekwameng, Phalaborwa sub-region.
The GNU slate could play a crucial part in deciding where they take their votes with indications that they could be aligning with the ‘straight line’ at the conference.
“Of course, as you would know that we had been dealing with outstanding matters relating to disputes and we are quite briefed that the Provincial Dispute Resolution committee has concluded business in attending to these matters,” said ANC Mopani Spokesperson Peter Ngobeni, talking to Energy FM regarding the conference.
