Limpopo senior NPA official arrested for rape of a teen

A 47-year-old senior NPA official from Nzhelele, Limpopo has been arrested for alleged rape of a young girl on several occasions for over three years since she was 13.

In one of the latest incidents, it is alleged that the accused requested the victim, now 16, to come to his place where he sexually abused her inside the garage.

The incident prompted her to relate the abuse to her mother. The mother then notified the uncle. They reported the matter to the Dzanani police station, where the accused was arrested.

The accused made his first appearance in the Dzanani Magistrates’ Court on 30 April 2025 on charges of rape.  The case has been postponed to 08 May 2025 for profile and a possible bail application.

The NPA official arrested for rape and the victim’s names are withheld to protect the victim’s identity. The 47-year-old man is a senior official in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions: Limpopo Division.

“The NPA is committed to fighting gender-based violence at all levels, including our employees,” said NPA Limpopo Spokesperson, Mashudu Malabi Dzhangi.
