Limpopo nurse stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend
A 44-year-old nurse was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend at her residence in Nkowankowa, Limpopo, over the long Easter weekend. The deceased, Faith Shikhibana and the accused are the employees of Mavambe Secure Care Centre.
Shikhibana was stabbed with a sharp object and rushed to Letaba Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries. The deceased was brought to the premises by a relative with multiple stab wounds to the upper body.
Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene and has since been on the run to evade arrest. The motive for the murder is unknown at this stage.

Police are also appealing, Victor Hlayisani Shivambu, a resident of Malamulele, to avail himself to the nearest police. They believe his presence may assist the Police to resolve the murder case.
Meanwhile, MEC for Social Development, Florence Radzilani, has also expressed profound shock at the incident. MEC Radzilani described the incident as heartbreaking, which serves as a stark reminder that violence, in any form, is never a solution to disputes or conflicts.

She condemned the incident which robbed the department and Shikibana family, a dedicated nurse who served the Department with dignity and the highest level of professionalism.
“As a department, we stand firmly against any act of violence and reiterate our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff and the communities we serve,” said Radzilani.
“I want to encourage all departmental staff to utilise the wellness resources available to them. We have an array of experienced social workers and mental health professionals within our department who are equipped to provide support and intervention in times of dispute and crisis.”
The MEC Radzilani will also visit the family of the nurse who was killed in NkowaNkowa to convey her condolences.
