Also in attendance on Saturday, was the MEC the Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Funani Jerry Maseko.
“In a significant move to elevate car spinning as a recognized sporting code, the Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Funani Jerry Maseko had recently joined the Katra’s birthday spin bash at Polokwane Showgrounds,” said the department on Facebook.
“This initiative aligns with the national department’s intention to formalize and promote the much-envisaged motorsport as a recognized sporting code. The intended formalisation aims to address safety concerns and to establish regulated environments for the sport’s practice. The MEC’s efforts also underscore a unified approach to elevating car spinning from its grassroots origins to a celebrated sporting code.”
