Lifeless body of a Nurse discovered floating in the Motsephiri River
The village of Ga-Mabintane within Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality in Limpopo woke up to a horrible scene of a dead body floating in the Motsephiri River on Monday.
The body of Frank Phetla, a professional nurse at Jane Furse Hospital was discovered one day after a kidnapping case was reported to Police on Sunday.
Phetla is from Jane Furse Zamani Section. The body was reportedly discovered by local villagers while crossing the river to get wood from the bushes.

According to police reports, an inquest case has been opened at the Hlogotlou Police Station. This is to investigate the circumstances surrounding the gruesome death. Makhuduthamaga Mayor Merah Mahlase has also strongly condemned the murder. The Municipality says they sent a delegation to the Phetla family to offer support and condolences.
BODY OF A NURSE FOUND FLOATING IN THE MOTSEPHIRI RIVER ON MONDAY
Mayor Mahlase has called upon the police to speed up their investigations and arrest everyone who was involved in the deceased’s kidnapping. She says this send a strong message to the perpetrators of crimes.
“No one is above the law, and everyone involved must eventually pay for their inhumane actions,” the Mayor said.
This is the second lifeless body discovered nearby the Motsephiri River in a year. On 13 March 2024, a male body was found near the same river stream.
