Man to appear in court for murder of his stepdaughter
A 48-year-old man will appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Monday for the brutal murder of his 14-year-old stepdaughter at Ga-Thoka village, Limpopo.
The victim was reportedly on her way to school, accompanied by her fellow learner, when the stepfather approached, attacked, and stabbed her several times with a sharp object and left her helpless on the road.

Police were informed about the attack. On their arrival, they found a victim lying in a pool of blood, still wearing a well-known school uniform. The emergency medical service personnel, upon their arrival, certified her dead on the scene.
A search operation for the suspect was immediately activated and he was located in Polokwane, where he was apprehended.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had a domestic dispute with the deceased’s mother the previous night. Earlier in the week, the suspect reportedly attempted to set their house on fire with everyone inside, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, strongly condemned the incident. The man is facing charges of murder.
