DJ Sbu resigns as host of Radio 2000 Breakfast Show
Seasoned broadcaster DJ Sbu has announced that he has resigned as the main host of the Radio 2000 Breakfast Show. DJ Sbu made the announcement on his social media platforms on Monday morning.
His real name, Sbusiso Leope, Dj Sbu has been the host of the show since the 2024 Radio season.

Initially, his appointment at the SABC Radio was believed to have been an April Fool’s joke, but it turned out it’s genuine. Besides the Radio Job, Leope is an award-winning social entrepreneur, DJ, TV host, music producer, actor, motivational speaker and philanthropist.
In a long post, Sbu also announced that he would be taking a new job as a breakfast show host on another platform.
“To the esteemed listeners of Radio 2000, loyal followers and the broader South African community, this serves to inform you that after much reflection and consideration, I have made the decision to resign as a morning radio host at Radio 2000, part of the South African Broadcasting Corporation,” he wrote.

“This decision comes earlier than the end of my contract, which was set to conclude on March 30, 2025. This choice has not been an easy one, as my time at Radio 2000 has been filled with invaluable experiences, cherished memories, and the joy of connecting with our wonderful audience.
“I am deeply grateful for the support I have received from my colleagues, management, and, most importantly, our loyal listeners. I am preparing for a brand new breakfast morning show that I am excited to launch on a different platform starting from April 1, 2025.
“This new opportunity presents a fresh chapter in my career, and I am eager to embrace the possibilities that lie ahead. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey.
“Your encouragement and engagement have meant the world to me, and I look forward to staying connected with you in my future endeavours. I wish Radio 2000 continued success in the years to come.”
