Calls for action against Zivuko Secondary School teacher
The EFF in Limpopo has called for strong action against a 53-year-old teacher who allegedly impregnated a Grade 11 pupil and engaging in sexual relationships with at least four pupils at Zivuko Secondary School in Mariveni, Greater Tzaneen Municipality.
The information reportedly came to light after the teacher allegedly confessed to local community leaders and sought forgiveness.
It is said the suspicions first arose in November 2024 and the teacher was confronted but had promised to stop his actions.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the EFF described the allegations as shocking, calling for immediate action.
“This conduct is shocking, to say the least, because teachers are entrusted with the responsibility of guiding and imparting knowledge to our children and most importantly to act as secondary parents. When children enter school premises, they become a responsibility of educators in terms of nurturing and parenting,” they said.

EFF WANTS ZIVUKO SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER TO ROT IN JAIL FOLLOWING SHOCKING ALLEGATIONS
“The Economic Freedom Fighters condemns in strongest terms this inappropriate conduct of teachers engaging in improper relationships with female learners. Paedophiles must never be allowed to teach or get closer to our children. We are calling for an immediate arrest of the culprit for impregnating a minor, If not arrested by now, then there is something wrong with our police system. The matter is now in the public domain and therefore we expect the police to have done their job.
“He must be arrested and rot in jail. It is unfortunate and shocking for the department of Basic Education in Limpopo to pronounce that the teacher’s conduct is not wrong following their half cooked investigation. The department is regarded as an accomplice in this matter for they are encouraging teachers to rape children in schools. What a shame,” the EFF said.
“We call upon the South African Council of Educators to conduct a thorough investigation on this matter, not what the department did. SACE must withdraw the license of this teacher in making sure that he must never stand in front of our children again. Furthermore, he must also be registered as a sex offender. Lastly, we urge the department to screen and vet teachers before they can stand in front of our children for teaching purposes. This will go a mile in reducing similar incidents in future.”
