Botlokwa female cop shoots and kills son and his girlfriend
A female police officer was arrested on Thursday for shooting and killing her 25-year-old son and his girlfriend in Botlokwa, Limpopo. The officer allegedly had a heated argument with her son at her residence in Mokomene Mashaha.
Police were summoned to the scene by the suspect, who related what had transpired at her house.

Upon arrival with paramedics, they found the victim’s son motionless with gunshot wounds, holding a sharp instrument in his hand.

A 16-year-old girl who was also shot at sustained serious injuries, and was immediately transported to the local hospital for medical attention. The girl has also succumbed to injuries and the suspect is now facing two counts of murder.
The officer claimed that the shooting was in self-defense during an argument when her son threatened her with a knife.
Police have opened a case of murder and attempted murder, and the suspect was then arrested on the spot. Further Police investigations will determine detailed circumstances that led to the incident. IPID is handling the case. The woman will appear before the Morebeng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 17 February 2025.
