Alleged cash-in-transit arrested whilst in prison
Foreign national Matola David Frimino [53] who is accused of cash-in-transit robberies in Limpopo was arrested while in police custody at Polokwane Correctional Service on Wednesday. Frimino has since appeared before the Makhado Magistrates Court facing 12 charges.
His matter was postponed to 01 April 2025. He was remanded in police custody as he abandoned his bail application.

Before the recent charge, Frimino has been linked with charges such as attempted Cash In Transit (CIT) robbery, 05 X Attempted murder, 02 X Malicious property damage, and Contravention of the Immigration Act.
Frimino was first arrested on 21 September 2023 in Hoedspruit for alleged cash-in-transit robbery, which was committed on 20 September 2023. During his arrest, he was found in possession of an AK47 rifle and ammunition.

MATOLA DAVID FRIMINO ARRESTED FOR CASH-IN-TRANSIT ROBBERIES IN LIMPOPO
The forensic investigations revealed that the AK47 was used in CIT at Hoedspruit and Makhado. He appeared in court several times for bail application and he was denied until he was served with a warrant of arrest.
The Acting Provincial Head of the Hawks in Limpopo Province Brigadier Desmond Alexander welcomed the arrest of the accused.
