Che Selane in hot water after comments about ANC comrades
Former ANCYL in Limpopo Secretary Che Selane is in hot water and may be referred to the party’s disciplinary committee for his ‘reckless’ comments he made about ANC comrades. Selane made the public utterance on the podcast, Just Talk with DJ Cappuccino that ANC comrades are buying qualifications from private institutions.
Selane stated that one must go and check the comrades of the ANC’s credentials of their qualifications.

He is not new to the controversy within the party. In 2018, Selane was suspended for allegedly withholding conference packages in his office instead of distributing them to the branches and other league structures. That delayed the election of the delegates who were supposed to represent branches during the ANCYL National elective conference. Several branch general meetings had to collapse due to the failure of packages delivery.

WHAT CHE SELANE SAID ABOUT FELLOW ANC COMRADES AT A PODCAST
During the interview at the podcast Selane said, “You check the institution because sometimes we need the credibility in the University that we are advancing our education. The whole Comrades in the ANC if we have to make a thorough investigation into the matter, many people will be arrested,” he said.
“The reality is that these Comrades in their numbers, you come here in the Limpopo province start with the Provincial Executive Committee and check the majority of them. If you ask which institution are you learning at, you may find that it is a private Institution. The private institutions are there for money, if you come with a lot of money because of tenders or businesses they give them those courses,’ he added.

ANC Spokesperson Limpopo Jimmy Machaka says Selane must provide evidence of what he was saying. He said if Selane fails to do so the party will have to look into what measures to be taken against him.
“I challenge him to disclose who those Comrades are because the statements make an impression on all ANC Comrades,” said Machaka.
“I also challenge him to indicate which institutions are those wherein such qualifications are bought. Substantial proof in support of such an utterance will be of great importance to support his allegations. In the absence of any, then we should agree that his statement was reckless, unsubstantiated and he may be referred to the party to explain his public reckless utterance.”
