Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla released on a warning
The daughter of former President Jacob Zuma, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla was released on a warning after making an appearance at Durban Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. Members of the MK Party also arrived in numbers to show support led by President Zuma.
Zuma-Sambudla faces charges for incitement to commit violence during the July 2021 riots.

She handed herself over at the Durban Central police station on Thursday, accompanied by advocate Dali Mpofu. The result comes as a result of a meticulous investigation following the unrest that brought the country to a standstill in 2021. There have already been 69 arrests and one conviction since the investigation began.
The now-Member of Parliament took to X to share posts encouraging the violence that played out across KwaZulu-Natal and parts of Gauteng.
Zuma-Sambudla also shared a flurry of videos and images from various areas across KZN where people had set trucks alight or rioted in the streets, all of her posts captioned #FreeJacobZuma.

Over 350 people lost their lives during the unrest with businesses suffering millions of rands in losses due to looting. Zuma-Sambudla intends to plead not guilty to the charges against her.
