232 YEARS IN PRISON SENTENCED TO LIMPOPO MAN WELCOMED BY NPA
When aggravating the sentence, the State Advocate Nnyambeni Nekhambele, submitted that the accused and his accomplice acted in furtherance of a common purpose, terrorising communities within these neighbouring locations.
He further submitted that the accused should be removed permanently from the community. Nekhambele concluded by saying that there are no substantial and compelling circumstances justifying departure from the prescribed minimum sentence.
The NPA in Limpopo has welcomed the sentence. Director of Public Prosecutions [DPP], Adv. Ivy Thenga expressed hope that this ruling will serve as a deterrent to other would-be offenders. The DPP further commended the good work done by Advocate Nekhambele and all stakeholders involved in achieving this outcome.
