Outrage after learner was taken to Clinic with a wheelbarrow
Residents of N’wamitwa village, Greater Tzaneen in Limpopo have raised a concern after a learner fell ill during lessons and was transported to a local clinic in a wheelbarrow.
The incident took place at Makhanya Junior Secondary School in Mopani. This is after there were no ambulances available to assist.

According to the Tzaneen Voice, the incident occurred when the learner, whose identity remains unknown, began feeling unwell during school hours.
The learner who pushed the wheelbarrow told the same publication that there were no ambulances available to assist. The only option left was to use the wheelbarrow to get the sick learner to the nearest clinic.
What has raised further concern is that no educator at the school stepped in to assist or intervene.

The resident expressed frustration that, despite the emergency, teachers did not take action to help the situation.
“What is even more alarming is that no single educator took it upon themselves to step in and assist in this situation,” a resident told Tzaneen Voice.
It is reported that the School Governing Body [SGB] was contacted for comment, but the request went unanswered. The Department of Health and the Department of Education have also been informed and have promised to investigate the matter.
