Limited spaces at both University of Limpopo and UNIVEN
The University of Limpopo [UL] and the University of Venda [UNIVEN] have sent out an alert to first-entering students with regard to the limited spaces for the 2025 academic year. Both the two Universities in the province are gearing up for registrations ahead of the busy year in terms of academics.

The University of Venda says it has received more than 120,000 applications for the 2025 academic year. Unfortunately, the space for first-entering students available is 3684.
Online registration for first-entering students at the Vhembe-based institution began on 13 January and will run until the 30 of the same month.
The University spokesperson Dr Takalani Dzaga says they have already admitted the number of students that they are looking for. But he added that if students who have been admitted do not register within a stipulated period, they will revoke the status and give the opportunity to other qualifying prospective students.

MORE NUMBER OF STUDENTS WHO WANT TO STUDY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO BUT THERE ARE LIMITED SPACES
The University of Limpopo says it can only admit under 5000 first entering students. This is despite over 304,000 students who have applied to study at that institution for the 2025 academic year.
Registration for first entering students at Mankweng-based institution is expected to take place from 23 until 31 January 2025. It will be done online. Registration of students living with disabilities will be conducted from Friday, 10 January 2025, to Saturday, 11 January 2025.
Spokesperson Victor Kgomoeswana says their capacity of admitting 5000 students has been determined by the Department of Higher Education. To qualify for admission, students should possess a matriculation certificate endorsed with a bachelor’s degree accompanied by the following.
